Irate Husband Allegedly Shot Memphis Officer
July 05, 2011
|
A 22-year-old man incensed at his wife's ex-husband shot the man, and then fatally shot Officer Timothy Warren at a downtown Doubletree hotel a day before Independence Day.
Officer Warren, who had responded to the scene, was fatally shot in the head after responding to a domestic dispute at the hotel on Sunday.
Alexander Haydel, who is being held on first-degree murder charges, was staying at the hotel and got into an argument with his wife and her ex-husband, who has been identified as 49-year-old Arthur Warren. The couple was staying in town to celebrate the holiday.
Apparently, Haydel argued with Warren (not related to Officer Warren), and then left the hotel to arm himself. He then returned and fatally shot Arthur Warren.
Oddly enough, all three men involved in the shooting are from Cleveland, Miss.
