Ex-Ga. Cop Charged In Drug Conspiracy

Former Savannah-Chatham (Ga.) Police officer Floyd B. Sawyer has been charged by federal officials with drug trafficking conspiracy, extortion, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and lying to federal agents.
Sawyer, 44, was arrested Monday on a criminal complaint and released on a $25,000 bond Tuesday during an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge G.R. Smith.
