After spotting flames coming from an Allegheny County home early Tuesday, a North Versailles (Pa.) Police officer broke down the door and rushed in to awake a sleeping couple and get them out of the residence.
Officer Kirk Kotchig headed into a home in the 400 block of Patton Street in Wilmerding around 2 a.m. Tuesday to save the couple who was sleeping one floor below the attic, which was on fire.
Officers were unable to reach the third floor to save the couple's pet snakes and lizards.
