Boston Cop Wounded Exchanging Fire with Subject

A Boston Police officer was hospitalized after he exchanged fire with a man who threatened police after his girlfriend called 911 to report he had assaulted her.
Officer Shawn Marando, 46, a military veteran, was hit in the leg when he was caught in the crossfire with Tyrone Cummings, 25.
Officers responded to 22 Dunbar Avenue in Dorchester at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday. Cummings was on the porch with another woman - believed to be the other female victim's sister - with a gun in his hand and threatening police.
