Denver to Settle Police Abuse Suit for $117K
June 06, 2011
|
A man who alleged Denver police officers beat him with a flashlight or club in 2008, causing head injuries and collapsing his lung, will get a $117,500 settlement if the City Council approves the payout tonight.
Tyler Mustard filed a federal lawsuit last year against the city and county of Denver and also against Officers Michael Morelock and Kimberly Thompson.
This would be the second large payout by the city in two months to resolve excessive-force police lawsuits.
