Las Vegas Metro Police Officer Derek Colling has been suspended with pay pending the results of an internal investigation into his use of force against a videographer.
Officer Colling allegedly attacked Michael Crooks, 36, on the night of March 20, while the officer investigated a burglary call. Crooks was standing in his driveway in the 1700 block of Commanche Circle, while videotaping police across the street. When Crooks refused to stop filming, Colling allegedly attacked him, with much of the altercation recorded by the camera.
