Suspect Shot at Calif. Elementary School After Fleeing from Officers

A 28-year-old man who ran from police while on a San Diego area elementary school is in stable condition at a hospital after being shot by officers. A second man is in custody.
Police responded to a disturbance call at Johnson Elementary School in El Cajon, Calif., and attempted to talk to the men, reports San Diego 6 News. The men ran from police in separate directions.
Police said that one of the suspects jumped out at an officer who was chasing him around a building. The officer responded by firing one shot, which passed through the suspect's wrist and into his chest. The suspect was then transported to a hospital. The second man escaped.
