Sheriff Joe Launches Mugshot Rating Contest

April 19, 2011  |

Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff Joe Arpaio's newest idea for bringing traffic to his Web site — launching a "Mugshot of the Day" that allows users to vote for the mug of the booked suspect they like best.

"I want people to tune in and see if their neighbor has been arrested," Arpaio told KPHO.com. "We decided to draw more people to our web."

Sheriff Joe also asks voters to tell him whether they like the contest.
