S.C. Deputy Shoots Armed Man, After Discovering Wife's Body

A Cherokee County (S.C.) Sheriff's deputy shot a man who pointed a handgun at him, after the deputy discovered the body of the man's wife, who had apparently been dead for several days.
Family members of the 55-year-old wife who were inside the Blacksburg home had called 911. The injured man is recovering, and the deputy has been placed on routing administrative leave.
