Ninth Circuit Blocks Arizona Immigration Law From Proceeding

April 12, 2011  |

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday upheld a federal judge's blocking of the Arizona law allowing police officers greater latitude in questioning subjects that was signed by Gov. Jan Brewer a year ago.

In a 2-1 decision, the northern California panel blocked an appeal. Arizona lawmakers indicated they would continue to appeal, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

The Obama administration had also sued to overturn the law, which would have required officers "when practicable" to detain people they suspect are in the country illegally and verify their status with federal officials unless doing so would hinder an investigation or emergency medical treatment.

What else could we expect.........lets not protect our country or our way of life. The liberal courts are going to ruin us and with this wonderful government leadership we have. Why would Obama go with this, he might be illegal too? HA HA!

I hope we all remember this vote come election day! What is wrong with the people of this country. I guess when the Cartels and Terroists start killing and blowing up US Citizens we will finally get off the couch and complain to our politicians..... In the mean time we will continue to watch the country errode.

This is certainly no surprise given the stellar record of the 9th. That is one of the problems with giving lifetime appointments of federal judges, we end up with a nest of left wing snakes such as those in the 9th Circuit and can't get rid of them. They are completely bereft of any semblance of common sense and never miss an opportunity to legislate from the bench and force their own version of the Constitution on the rest of the country. Impeach them? Apparently no one has the guts to do that.

HEY MICHAEL AND FRANK...YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT ON TARGET. WE HAVE TO STOP THE WHITE HOUSE FROM APPOINTING THESE IDIOTS TO SIT ON THE BANCH. I WORKED AS A DEPUTY BAILIF FOR SIX YEARS AND BOY I SURE LEARNED A LOT. THE COURTS ARE SO PLAGUED WITH POLITICS AND FAVORS THAT IT IS A WONDER THAT WE GET ANYTHING DONE AT ALL. ESPECIALLY ITEMS WITH COMMON SENCE. I DID WORK FOR SOME JUDGES THAT HAD IT ALL TOGETHER AND DID A GREAT JOB.

I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU DRAW THE LINE. IF A PERSON IS IN THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALY, DO WE TURN OUR BACKS AND LET THEM GO...AND IF THE COMMIT A FELONY, WHO IS LIABLE...US?

AS LINE OFFICERS, WE ALL KNOW THAT THE CHIEFS AND SHERIFFS TELL THE PUBLIC WHAT THEY ARE TOLD TO SAY, NOT WHAT THEY THINK. THEIR JOB IS ON THE LINE AND THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP IT.

30 YEARS AS A PEACE OFFICER

I JUST DON'T GET IT.
