Shot LAPD Officer Shows Improvement

Officer Steven Jenkins, a 22-year veteran of the force and member of the canine unit, has been upgraded from critical to serious condition.

The Los Angeles Police officer who was shot in the face by a domestic violence suspect in Sylmar early Monday is showing improvement.

Officer Steven Jenkins, a 22-year veteran of the force and member of the canine unit, has been upgraded from critical to serious condition, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The LAPD also set up a donation fund to aid Officer Jenkins during his recovery.
