Shot LAPD Officer Shows Improvement

The Los Angeles Police officer who was shot in the face by a domestic violence suspect in Sylmar early Monday is showing improvement.
Officer Steven Jenkins, a 22-year veteran of the force and member of the canine unit, has been upgraded from critical to serious condition, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The LAPD also set up a donation fund to aid Officer Jenkins during his recovery.
