Rape Trial Opens for NYPD Cops

The trial of two New York Police officers facing rape charges involving an intoxicated woman began Tuesday, reports the New York Daily News.

Officer Kenneth Moreno allegedly took advantage of a Gap employee who had given the officer the keys to her East Village apartment. Officer Moreno's partner Officer Franklin Mata has also been charged for apparently helping to cover up the crime.
