The Fond du Lac (Wis.) Police Department and other well-wishers laid to rest Officer Craig Birkholz in Kenosa on Saturday, a week after the officer was fatally shot by a barricaded subject.
The 28-year-old Birkholz was slain in a March 21 stand-off that also resulted in injuries to Officer Ryan Williams, who attended his slain colleague's memorial service.
Officer Williams was welcomed home by friends and family on Friday after leaving the hospital, reports the Fond du Lac Reporter.
