Wash. Deputy Dies From Injuries Caused by Vehicle Stop Assault

A 29-year-old Pierce County (Wash.) Sheriff's deputy has succumbed to injuries he sustained during an assasult by a man who initially refused to exit his truck at a vehicle stop, reports the News-Tribune.
Dep. Shandon Wright could not be revived by deputies and paramedics who responded to his home. The deputy was at home with his wife and 2-year-old daughter.
Wright suffered the injury Aug. 19 while responding to a vehicle stop in Spanaway. Deputies struggled with the man, who initially refused to exit his vehicle.
