Phoenix Chief Reassigned Amid Mislabeled Kidnapping Reports

Phoenix city officials reassigned their city's police chief, saying mislabeled reports on kidnapping data have been discovered as the city applies for federal grant funds, reports the Arizona Republic.
Executive Assistant Chief Joe Yahner has taken over the day-to-day operations of the department.
Public Safety Manager Jack Harris' salary and title will remain the same. However, he will not be stationed at police headquarters. He will remain focused on emergency management, criminal justice coordination, infrastructure and service security, and public transit security.
