N.Y. Officer Critically Wounded In Gunfire, Two Dead

A Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Police officer was shot in the face and three officers were injured during a Friday shoot-out at a New York train station. The shoot-out also left a husband and wife dead.
After receiving a shots-fired call, dispatchers sent the officer to the parking lot, shortly after 1 p.m. to confront the suspect. The officer confronted the suspect, who fled. The officer pursued and confronted the suspect again, taking a 3-year-old from him, reports the Poughkeepsie Journal.
A second officer responding to the scene was shot in the head. That officer is 43 years old with 20 years of experience.
