Border Patrol agents arrested two Mexican nationals outside of San Diego Wednesday evening for attempting to illegally enter the country using dive scooters.
At about 8:45 p.m., the crew of an aircraft piloted by the Customs and Border Protection's Office of Air and Marine spotted two suspicious subjects in wetsuits who were carrying the self-propelled underwater devices. The males were walking north on the beach, south of Seacoast Drive.
Border Patrol agents responded to the scene and encountered the two men attempting to conceal themselves by laying in the sand. Agents questioned the 38-year-old and a 16-year-old, and arrested them.
