Napolitano Claims U.S.-Mexico Border Is Secure

February 03, 2011  |

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano called on public officials to stop exaggerating violence on the U.S. side of the border with Mexico and "be honest with the people we serve," while visiting El Paso, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Napolitano cited FBI statistics showing that violent crime rates in Southwest border counties are down 30% over the last two decades and are "among the lowest in the nation."

A spokesman for Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer responded by saying, "The issue is there are tens of thousands of people being murdered immediately across the border in Mexico by the cartels. And the concern is that the violence by the cartels will begin spilling across the border."

More BS propaganda from JN !

USMC Ret. @ 2/4/2011 8:25 AM

Has she ever watched the show "Border Patrol"? Maybe if she did, she would have a clue as to what is really going on. I don't think I would lose any money if I bet that the agents in the field disagree.

USMC Ret. , No I dont think MS. Janet "RENO"Napolitano doesnt watch Border Wars, she most likely watches the VIEW, Ellen "degenerate" Degeneres or anything to do with Rosie O'Donnell. Instead of shutting the border down like in Israel. mini28 is also correct but its not only JN but the whole current AND past administrations on this issue.

I suspect this is an example of what happens when your boss tells you what to say if you value your job or if you EVER want to have work in Washington EVER again.....just saying...

Napolitano must be getting her info from a box of Cracker Jacks! The old "head-in-the-sand" routine, AGAIN!!!!!!

BT @ 2/8/2011 7:50 AM

Napolitano is a liar or an idiot. Either way, she is one more example of this inept and embarassing Obamanation.
