An elementary school principal who was shot in his office on Wednesday morning died of his injuries at a local hospital. The alleged shooter, a janitor at Louisiana Schnell Elementary School, has been apprehended by police.
Sam LaCara, 50, was shot once in the torso. He was transported to Marshall Medical Center, where he died at 11 a.m., the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The school was immediately locked down following the shooting.
John Luebbers, 44, was arrested at his home an hour after a police manhunt was launched. The motive of the shooting is not yet clear. No students were harmed during the incident. One student may have witnessed the shooting.
