Baltimore Officer Fatally Shot Outside Club

Two Baltimore Police officers were shot, one of them fatally, when shots were exchanged early Sunday outside a club near downtown.
Detectives are investigating whether the officer's death was caused by friendly fire. The officer, an eight-year veteran of the force, has been identified as 33-year-old William H. Torbit Jr., reports the Baltimore Sun.
Torbit was apparently in plainclothes and became involved in an altercation outside the club, exchanging fire with a group of people.
