Jersey City Mayor Announces Layoffs of 82 Officers

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy announced the city would submit to the state a layoff plan of 82 police officers and seven civilian police department employees, reports the Jersey Journal.
The Jersey City PD would also demote two captains, four lieutenants, and six sergeants, after unsuccessful negotiations between the administration and the Police Officers Benevolent Association.
