19-Year-Old Parolee Charged In Chicago Duty Death

The 19-year-old believed to have killed a Chicago police officer and retired housing authority officer investigating an auto break-in will face the two murder charges and an attempted murder from July.
Timothy Herring Jr. is being held for the fatal shooting of Chicago PD evidence technician Michael Flisk and former Chicago Housing Authority police officer Stephen Peters.
Peters' mother told the Sun-Times she suspects the men were shot when they surprised a burglar of Peters' red Ford Mustang that was parked in her garage. She believes the burglar may have returned to collect stolen loot he had hidden in trash cans, then started shooting when confronted.
