Dallas Honors Man Who Found JFK-Era Slain Officer

The Dallas PD will honor the citizen who discovered slain officer J.D. Tippit 45 minutes after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, reports the Dallas Morning News.
Temple F. Bowley saw Tippit dead on an Oak Cliff street on Nov. 22, 1963 and used the officer's radio to report the shooting at the hand of Lee Harvey Oswald. Officers quickly swarned into the Oak Cliff area and arrested Oswald at the Texas Theatre.
