Slain Riverside Officer's Memorial Draws 6,000

Fallen Riverside (Calif.) PD officer Ryan Bonaminio received a hero's farewell Tuesday in a poignant service marked by standing ovations, military salutes and countless tears, reports the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
Law enforcement officers from around the region, friends and family swelled the ranks of a standing-room crowd that reached 6,000.
Bomaminio was eulogized as a "cop's cop" and heroic example to colleagues.
"Ryan knew from a young age he was supposed to be a great police officer. He fulfilled his purpose on earth. How many of us live two or three times as long ... without knowing our purpose?" Chief Sergio Diaz reportedly said. "Ryan has taught us how to live. With his death he inspires each of us to be better."
