Michigan Suburb Disbands Police Department

The Pontiac (Mich.) Police Department will cease to exist, after the cash-strapped city voted to turn over patrols to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office as soon as December, the Detroit News reports.
Pontiac Mayor Leon Jukowski called the move "very, very controversial" and said an agreement must still be reached with the sheriff's office.
