Chicago PD Eliminates 'Roundtables' After Officer Shootings

The Chicago Police Department will cease its "round-tables" interviews following officer-involved shootings, the Sun-Times reports.

The interviews involved the officer giving a cursory statement of the incident to higher-ups in the department, including police commanders, a representative of the Cook County state's attorney's office, and a representative of the Independent Police Review Authority, the civilian agency that investigates shootings.

The roundtables were criticized for always coming to the conclusion that the officer was justified, according to the report.
