Obama Administration Denies NYPD Federal Funds to Hire More Cops

The NYPD will get no green from Washington to put more men in blue on our streets. For the second year in a row, the Obama administration has denied the nation's largest police force federal funds to hire more cops.

The reason New York is getting no taste of the $298 million the Justice Department is doling out? Our cops do too good a job, and our taxpayers are already footing the bill.

Justice Department officials dole out awards based on a formula that weighs crime rates, community policing plans and "fiscal health factors."
