Safariland has introduced the XT01 Type IIIA body armor model that satisfies the requirements of the National Institute of Justice's Voluntary Body Armor Compliance Testing Program under NIJ Standard-0101.06.
The XT01 Type IIIA is part of Safariland's ABA Xtreme Series of concealable armor and features a flexible, hybrid design that combines Honeywell Gold Shield ballistic material with Twaron Microlaminate.
The model is lightweight and features perimeter stitching throughout, as well as a Grip-Lok panel suspension system. The armor has also been tested against the .357 Sig and .44 Mag NIJ-designated rounds, according to Safariland.
Safariland's line of concealable armor models are certified using NIJ approved size templates C1 and C5 and are available in a variety of sizes.
