Michigan Auxiliary Officer Struck While Assisting Motorist

An auxiliary officer with the Taylor (Mich.) Police Department was struck and killed while he helped a motorist stranded on the shoulder of I-94, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Lt. Dan Kromer, 54, a 20-year veteran of the Taylor Auxiliary Police Department, died Tuesday evening.
Police were searching Wednesday for the driver of a white Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis who struck Kromer, then fled west.
