National Black Officers Group Supports Pot Legalization In California

The National Black Police Association has endorsed California's Proposition 19, a statewide November initiative that would legalize marijuana, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The initiative would help eliminate laws that have a negative impact on the black community, according to Ron Hampton, the group's executive director and retired Metro (D.C.) PD officer.
"It means that we will be locking up less African American men and women and children who are using drugs," Hampton told the newspaper.
