D.C. Chief Stands Pat With Patrol Deployment After Transit Brawl

Metropolitan (D.C.) Police Chief Cathy Lanier won't increase patrols in the Chinatown area unless requested by Metro, following a weekend brawl at a train station that involved several dozen people, the Washington Post reports.
A fight that began on a train spilled out into L'Enfant Plaza on Friday evening. Those involved in the fight boarded the train in the Chinatown section of D.C.
The department assigns 10 officers and a sergeant to patrol the Chinatown area.
