Two NYPD Officers Shot In Harlem Gunfight at 500-Person Barbecue

August 08, 2010  |

Two New York police officers were shot early Sunday in a 2:30 a.m. gunfight between revelers attending a barbecue and responding officers, the New York Times reports.

Angel Alvarez, 23, is alleged to have shot and killed 21-year-old Luis Soto after fighting with him on top of a car.

Alvarez then exchanged fire with four responding police officers in a hail of 50 bullets. The officers fired 46 of the rounds, including one that struck Officer Michael Tadeschi, whose ballistic vest deflected the bullet.

More than 20 bullets struck Alvarez, who was taken into custody and is listed in critIcal condition. A New York Daily News story reported that police recovered a loaded .38-caliber revolver from Alvarez.

Oh no, I can hear the cries of NO JUSTICE,NO PEACE... The NAACP,Al Sharpton,The Rainbow Coalition (Jesse Jacksons meal ticket),S0-called community leaders demanding press conferences, officers being fired or put in jail. But in the end when the NYC hands out the hush money they will go back behind the wood work like roaches when the lights come on,all the while the black on black killings go on. Why, because there is no money to be made off of them...OK folks let the arrows fly, I am ready.
