POLICE Magazine Investigates Arizona Border War

July 19, 2010  |

For the remainder of the week, POLICE Magazine will be reporting from the front lines along the U.S.-Mexico border.

We've set up numerous interviews with several southern Arizona law enforcement agencies—chiefs, detectives, patrol officers, a sheriff, SWAT deputies and border agents—to continue telling the story of American law enforcement's battle against the criminal elements who help fuel the flow of drug and human smuggling from Mexico.

We've read the stories of cartels who issue death threats against American officers, smugglers who use high-powered rifles to shoot it out with deputies and coyotes captured on surveillance footage carrying backpacks of marijuana through the desert.

We'll be providing some live coverage while we're there, so keep your eyes on PoliceMag.com, as well as the POLICE Facebook page.
