Off-Duty Officer Arrests Oakland Man Who Hurled Infant Into Traffic

After watching a 21-year-old man violently shake a toddler and then hurl the girl into traffic, an off-duty Oakland police officer flagged down a citizen vehicle to follow the man and make the arrest, SF Gate.com reports.
The officer saw a man later identified as John Taylor Jr., hurl the 18-month-old girl into traffic, where she was hit by a vehicle. The officer helped remove the girl, who was determined to be the suspect's child, from underneath the vehicle. She escaped major injury.
When the officer reached the suspect, he attacked the officer, who used a stun gun to subdue him.
