Illinois Mob Attacks Officers With Illegal Fireworks

A crowd of several hundred people shot large bottle rockets and other illegal fireworks at Alton (Ill.) PD officers who responded to a housing complex late Sunday and early Monday, The Telegraph reports.
"I'm so angry," Alton Police Chief David Hayes told The Telegraph. "This type of conduct is not supposed to happen in civil society. This was obviously intended to be entertainment for the crowd."
Officers responded on three separate occasions to the housing complex. Police used pepper-ball guns and at one point pursued attackers in an attempt to restore order.

Please do a follow up on this story. These people need to be charged, prosecuted and imprisoned. Their children need to be taken away from them as they are not fit to be parents. We are seeing an increase in this type of disrespectful acivity all over the country. Police, fire and EMS personnel are being attacked in larger numbers. It's time we got serious and aggressive in stopping this unacceptable behavior. If we don't these children grow up thinking it is okay to act this way.
