North Las Vegas Officer Fabricated Round-Striking-Badge Story

A North Las Vegas police officer who called in an officer-involved shooting in which he said a suspect's round struck his badge has been arrested for making up the story, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
Bryan Kolstad, 31, is charged with making a false police report and discharging a firearm where a person might be endangered.
Forensic investigators with the North Las Vegas PD determined, after an investigation, that the badge was damaged but had not been struck by a round. Kolstad has not said why he told the tale.
