Woman Who Reported Non-Existent Armed Man Is Charged in NJ Trooper's Death

The 30-year-old New Jersey woman whose report of an armed man in the Camden County woods that turned out to be false will face charges relating to a search that resulted in the death of a state trooper, NJ.com reports.
Diana Hoffman of Blackwood has been charged in connection with the death of New Jersey State Trooper Marc Castellano, whose funeral services are scheduled for Saturday. Hoffman was the passenger in a vehicle troopers had pursued earlier, and gave the information when questioned about the whereabouts of the driver.
During the search, Castellano was struck by the driver of a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, as he stood on a highway shoulder.
