Maryland Trooper Shot, Killed While Working Security at Restaurant

Maryland State Trooper Wesley Brown was shot and killed, while he talked on his cell phone in an Applebee's restaurant parking lot that may have involved a customer who had refused to pay a bill, the Washington Post reports.
Restaurant patrons called 911, after 24-year-old Brown, a three-year trooper, stumbled through the front doors with multiple gunshot wounds. He had been talking on the phone near a marked law enforcement vehicle while wearing a jacket with "police" on the back.
Earlier in the shift, Brown had escorted a "disorderly" patron out of the restaurant who had refused to pay the check. Police are now searching for that man as a person of interest.
