A suburban Kansas City officer shot and killed an armed man in the parking lot of a Leavenworth grocery store after he pointed a handgun at two people and fired multiple shots at the officer, the Kansas City Star reports.
The Leavenworth officer, a 26-year veteran, is on administrative duty as part of protocol while the department investigates its first officer-involved shooting since 1995.
Reginald Jones, 42, opened fire on the officer who was responding to the incident. The officer then fired two .40-caliber rounds from his sidearm. One round blew out a tire of a parked trailer. The second struck Jones.
A PoliceMag.com reader has identified the officer (see comment below) as Steve Traglio.

The officer who was involved in the shooting is Steve Traglio and he is a 25 year veteran of the Leavenworth PD, not some damned hotdog like the press seems to think and he is a damn good officer.

Not a hotdog if he only fires two rounds while under fire.

Steve is a great officer, a war veteran and a good friend. God bless him and his family
