S.C. Chief In Hot Water Over Investigation of Mayor's Car Accident

Columbia (S.C.) Police Chief Tandy Carter may lose his job because he didn't hand over the investigation into the mayor's car accident to an outside agency, TheState.com reports.
Carter angered the City Council and city manager when he declined the hand-over request and instead asked the state's attorney general for an opinion regarding what the council can and cannot tell him to do.
City Manager Steve Gantt told the newspaper he is considering disciplinary action against Carter.
