Everett Officer Exonerated In Murder Trial

Everett (Wash.) Police officer Troy Meade has been acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges involving his shooting of a drunk driver, the Seattle Times reports.
Meade had shot Niles Meservey a year ago in a parking lot of a restaurant as he was behind the wheel of a Corvette. Meade testified that he feared for his life as Meservey backed toward him and fired eight shots.
