Police Say Michigan Man Used Toddler as Taser Shield

A 27-year-old father is accused of using his 2-year-old child as a shield to protect himself from being shocked by a police Taser.
Joseph Raymond Cox is charged with second-degree child abuse for the incident at his ex-wife's home in Warren, Mich., last Saturday.
Officers pulled out their Tasers — a stun gun device — and pointed them at the accused father. Cox grabbed the child — the captain said police reports did not indicate the 2-year-old's gender — and positioned the child between him and the officers.
