Michigan Officer, Suspect Killed in Shootout During Domestic Call

The two officers entered the suspect's home in the 100 block of Mitchell Street in Jackson, Mich., at 12:26 a.m., and made contact with him, according to a release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. While in the house, Elvin Potts took out a handgun and shot several times at the officers. One officer returned fire, according to the release.
Jackson Officer James Bonneau was killed. Blackman Township Public Safety Officer Darrin McIntosh was shot in the lower body and taken to Allegiance Health. His wound is not believed to be life threatening.
The suspect was killed in the shootout.
About 11 p.m. Monday, McIntosh went to the Ashton Ridge Apartments for a report of trouble with an ex-boyfriend at a residence there. When McIntosh arrived, the ex-boyfriend, Potts, had left, authorities say.
