Wounded Off-Duty Police Officer Kills Alleged Teen Attacker

An off-duty New Jersey sheriff's deputy, critically injured in a shooting at a go-go club, shot his attacker dead before collapsing, police said.

Lorenzo Zackery of Newark is expected to recover, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura told The Star-Ledger. Zackery was shot Sunday night in Knockouts Go-Go Lounge in Newark.

Investigators say Darnell McNeil, 19, angry about being denied admittance to Knockouts, returned with a gun and opened fire. Zackery, an Essex County sheriff's deputy, ran after him in spite of his wound, and opened fire.

HALLELUAH AND PRAISE THE LORD Deputy Zachery. Not only are you a brave man but you did society a favor so we don't have to waste tax payer money to support that P.O.S. McNiel.
