Thieves Switch Envelope of Money, Envelope of Paper Strips

Police say they are investigating an unusual Santa Ana, Calif., robbery in which a woman reportedly snatched a purse from another woman, stole an envelope containing $2,000, and replaced it with an envelope of newspaper strips.

Police later indicated that the victim watched the female suspect put the envelope with money into her own purse, before handing the victim's purse to the man, who had gotten out of the vehicle.
