A San Antonio police officer shot and killed a 15-year-old armed robbery suspect Sunday night, after he refused to drop his weapon, KSAT-TV reports.
Two officers with the Tactical Response Unit/Gang Unit were on patrol when they saw an armed, masked male run into a Valero Corner Store. The officers approached the store, and that's when the teen exited the store. The officers identified themselves and ordered the suspect to drop his weapon, the release said.
The suspect refused to drop his gun and pointed it toward Officer Paul Armendariz, the release said. So far, in 2009, officers from the department have been involved in 15 officer-involved shootings.
