An eastern North Carolina town must fire all of its police officers and rebuild the department from scratch in order to recover from the scandal of two officers being indicted, the town's interim police chief says.

An eastern North Carolina town must fire all of its police officers and rebuild the department from scratch in order to recover from the scandal of two officers being indicted, the town's interim police chief Gregg Jarvies says.

Jarvies, the retired chief of police from Chapel Hill, said firing the officers would hurt "decent individuals and good police officers for the actions of others," but he saw no other choice.
