Dayton, Ohio’s WHIO-AM has created the “Sgt. Karl” show as a forum for police-related topics. The show’s host, Sgt. Karl Schmidt, works the day shift as a patrol officer. And no, he’s not giving up his day job.
Schmidt, a 23-year veteran of the Kettering (Ohio) Police Department, focuses on law enforcement topics of general interest to the public during his show and makes sure he includes topics of interest to the law enforcement audience, as well.
“I consider this a fantastic opportunity to get our message out every week and to respond to criticisms that enter the public arena on a daily basis,” says Schmidt.
The “Sgt. Karl” show airs Sunday nights from 8:00 to 10:00pm EST and can be listened to on the Web at www.1290whio.com via the “listen live” link on the Website.
