John A. Muller didn't have a second person to drive a getaway car while he committed robberies in Suffolk, New York. Instead of letting that stop him, he used a car service.
Police arrested Muller, 39, soon after the robbery of a Dairy Barn in Lake Grove. The arrest capped a weeklong series of robberies, mostly of Dairy Barns, by Muller, police said.
According to police, Muller used a car service to get to and from his robbery targets, and he had the driver wait for him. He would put on a disguise, enter the stores, pretend he had a weapon, and demand cash. He then returned to the waiting car.
Muller has been charged with nine robberies during a one-week crime spree, police said. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip.
