Two of the largest peacekeeping groups in the state of Minnesota have formed the Police Officers Alliance of Minnesota Inc., a non-union professional organization dedicated to improving the compensation, benefits, and working conditions of its members throughout the state.
Initial member groups in the alliance are the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis, representing more than 900 individuals, and the Hennepin County Sheriffs Deputies Association, representing more than 250 individuals. Before forming the alliance, both groups were members of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association.
Mike Rosen, president of the new alliance, says it was created to fill a need for a statewide organization not affiliated with a particular labor union.
On the appointed board of directors for the Police Officers Alliance of Minnesota are President Mike Roseen of the Hennepin County Sheriffs Deputies Association; Vice President and Secretary Wally Krueger of the Minneapolis Police Department; Treasurer Mary Sailer of the Hennepin County Sheriffs Deputies Association; Director Lyall Delaney of the Minneapolis Police Department; and Director Dan Roen of the Minneapolis Police Department.
The new organization is located at 1811 University Avenue N.E., Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55418, 612-788-1676.
